ABOUT MOLDOVA

Protected Geographical Indication

(PGI) STEFAN VODA is located in the South-East of Moldova, at a low altitude, and includes the Nistru river terraces. Dominating soils are brown chernozem and podzol. Climate is moderately continental, with strong influence from Black Sea. The 37 thousand acres of vineyards offer balanced wines with a rich bouquet and particular characters. The indigenous varieties such as Rara Neagra, Feteasca Neagra, along with classic Cabernet Sauvignon, Pinot Noir, Pinot Gris, and Chardonnay have adapted perfectly to this terroir.

The legendary Purcari, oldest winery, as well as small family wineries, Et Cetera and Equinox, are located in this region.
